A 43-year-old, unemployed man, Steve Heller, was left stunned when he found a king prawn-flavoured crisp that bore an uncanny resemblance to King Charles' distinctive "ear" – and it's all the more incredible as the discovery comes just days before the royal coronation.
The Cornish resident was enjoying a packet of limited-edition Sensations from Walkers when he made the startling discovery. The crisps were specially produced to mark the upcoming royal festivities, featuring 2 flavours: Regal Lamb and Mint and the King Prawn Cocktail.
Steve initially thought the crisp was just another snack, but upon closer inspection, he realised that the unusual shape was strikingly similar to the monarch's prominent ear. He told us: "I was just doing my usual routine of relaxing and watching TV when I found the crisp. At first, I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought it was some sort of wind up, but there it was – a crisp that looked like King Charles' ear!"
As Britain prepares for the highly anticipated coronation of King Charles at Westminster Abbey next week, the discovery of "The King's Ear Crisp" has added a touch of humour and fascination to the celebrations.
Unfortunately, Steve no longer has the quirky heirloom. He says, "I wish I'd kept it now, but after taking a photo for Facebook, I couldn't help but eat it. With a chuckle, he added, "I'm glad I was only eating crisps. I'm not sure how I would have felt if I was chewing on a sausage!"
